Penflex Welder Training Program
Our one-week ASME Section IX-certified program for welders with mid-level experience is designed to improve technique. We’ll take them through all the pipe welding requirements for attachment welds, butt welds and pipe welding and go into the basics of manufacturing hose and building metal hose assemblies.
Welders will build their own assemblies starting with 2″ P3 and moving down to 1/4″ P3, one of the most difficult pieces of hose to weld. With a strip thickness of .006”, you can just imagine the precision that’s required!
Additionally, there is an option to submit weld test coupons for ASME Section IX welding procedure specifications, welder performance qualifications and weld procedure developments for a variety of alloy combinations. We work closely with the Welder Training and Testing Institute in Allentown, PA allowing us to expedite this process for customers and their welders.
Meet Your Instructor
A skilled welder with decades of experience, Dave Gregor is Penflex’s Certified Welding Inspector, Certified Welding Educator and one of our Level II Non-Destructive Examiners. He oversees the welder training program.
Welder Training Curriculum
The welder training program is often carried out at Penflex’s headquarters in Gilbertsville, PA but we will also travel to our customer locations to deliver the training there if more convenient.
